I have mentioned several times on my Facebook Page that I have been working diligently on a freezer menu plan for when we have our baby girl in the next month or so. My husband and I have set aside a day this month that we will be going to the grocery store loading up on all the ingredients and spending the day in the kitchen prepping and cooking over 30 meals along with breakfast and sides.
I thought today I would share with you about half of the meals on the list. I decided to use a half and half technique, I’m going to use half of the recipes that are on the site that I know freeze well. Then, I am going to use another half of new recipes that I will be trying and sharing with you throughout that time as we defrost and cook them.
Although, I freezer cook leftovers on a regular basis, this will be our first large attempt at freezer cooking. I am so excited to prepare this way for the baby, I only wish we would of done this when we had my son.
At that time I did not have a clue what freezer cooking was and hardly cooked back then. We lived on fast food during those first few weeks, so this will be so nice to feel like I have dinner taken care of every night!
Let’s get on to this list!
Freezer Meals:
Breakfast:
Pancakes
Waffles
Omelets in a Pan
Dinners:
Tangy Meatballs
Spaghetti and Meatballs using Tangy Meatballs
Meatball Subs
Slow Cooker Pumpkin Chili
Slow Cooker Beef & Veggie Soup
Tater Tot Casserole
Taco Pasta
Meatloaf
Lasagna
Stuffed Peppers
Slow Cooker Stew
Pizza Pasta
Pepperoni Pizza
Homemade Macaroni and Cheese
Slow Cooker Rosemary Roast
Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup
This completes the list of recipes that are on the site that I plan to use although, I have many more that are easily adaptable to freezer cooking.
For us the most time consuming part is preparing the grocery list. Right now, I have budgeted that it should cost about $250 for everything we need to make 30 meals plus about 3 helpings each of the breakfast meals to freeze. I feel like that is actually a great price considering that these meals should last us close to 2 months since we will not be eating one every single day.
This price would likely be even cheaper if you are not eating gluten free like myself, some items I am using are specialty brands which causes the price to go up a little.
I will keep you posted as we have our freezer cooking day and let you in on some of the behind the scenes of how our day goes. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to having dinner taken care of for a few months!
Happy Freezer Planning!

I’ve been thinking about a big freezer cooking day to get ready for the busy holiday time, but just haven’t managed to get up the courage yet. I’m interested to hear how your “big day” went!
Thanks! I’m anxious to get started and will definitely post about our freezer cooking day!
I go to see each day some web pages and information sites to read posts, but this weblog presents feature based articles.
Thanks for this list – it will definitely come in handy! I’ve got a new baby on the horizon and have been researching freezer cooking. We’re also getting a new freezer delivered soon, so it’s exciting to find a bunch of recipes that I know will freeze well! 🙂
