I met the Pioneer Woman tonight! Let’s just say she’s just as sweet in person as she seems by reading her blog and her recipes!
My sister and I headed out to Steve’s Sundry to meet the Pioneer Woman. I just love this little bookstore. It’s complete with an Old Fashion Soda Shop. My son loved sitting up there eating his dinner, I wish I would have come here more when I lived nearby.
My nephew was all ready with his book to have signed. It’s helps that their dog looks very much like Charlie!
Then the lines started to pour in, it really was not a long wait; however, with an almost 2 year old my patience was wearing thin fast!
This is Mommy Hates Cooking trying to smile and not have a breakdown due to the rambunctious toddler in overcrowded, tight spaces!
Wait? Do I see red hair? So close!
Hi! Nice to meet you! She says ‘Oh I just saw your tweet on twitter, I’m going to have to check out your site!’ My reaction…stay calm, remain calm. She knows who I am! This is where I forget that I have just stood for over an hour with a 2 year old screaming, sweating all my make up off, have a nasty visitor that decided to haunt me from Jr high on my face, need a haircut, some new clothes, and eyebrows waxed…forget it all, nothing else mattered. She just read my tweet…and said she was going to check out my site. My day was made and it was so worth it!
Then, it’s my sister’s turn. Elisha was one lucky kid who got to meet her twice!
Here it is my signed cookbook from The Pioneer Woman, that I plan to cook from soon!
As a side note, I also read her first novel and it was fabulous! If you haven’t read it yet, you need to!!

Great pics & great story! Love the part about, “forget about my eyebrows needing wax”. We worry about the silliest stuff, huh? You are adorable! PW is so kind & real, love her. So cool she is going to check out your site 🙂

Yay! This made me smile. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet her twice now and she is always so gracious and sweet. (And, she remembered me the second time. YES!!! LOL!)
I can only imagine how hard it was to do all that waiting with a little one. It’s bad enough waiting by yourself. Ha!
