Picky Eaters: Oreo Smoothie

This recipe comes to us from Money Saving Queen.  She is currently going through the struggles of feeding picky eaters.  She tried the Dairy Free Spinach Smoothie, but neither enjoyed it.  What do they enjoy?  Cookies and Chips, boys after my own heart!

She recently discovered that she could sneak spinach in with the cookies!  Sometimes as in her case, it is necessary if she plans to get any veggies into her kids.

Result:  A happy child, who does not realize he is eating spinach!

    Genius! That’s all I can say! Who’d a thunk, you could slip spinach into a smoothie, and the kids like it. She’s the Wo-man!

    FIVE oreos though? My son is the pickiest eater ever. I’ve not seen this level of pickiness before ever (I, myself am super picky and he beat ME!). But I make him fruit/milk smoothies and put spinach in those. I’ve tried them and you can’t taste it at all. Yes, it’s green, but MUCH less sugar than a smoothie that contains 5+ cookies to cover the taste. Baby spinach is super easy to cover the taste of in smoothies.

    I just put a banana as a base always. Then, a splash of milk, strawberries, pineapple, and spinach. Or I do blueberries, strawberries, banana, and spinach. Basically: banana, spinach, milk, and any additional fruit. We skip the ice because my son doesn’t like it too cold.
