Make dinner in minutes with these Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas, they are a great Ninja Foodi Recipe too!
I’m on a fajita kick lately, and I mean literally I could eat them every single day. I’m not sure, why? Maybe it’s that I finally figured out that if I heat a white corn tortilla with a bit of olive oil in my foodi or on the skillet they taste so much better than just warmed up in the microwave.
It’s the little things…and it’s all in how you cook certain things too.
Typically, we make Air Fryer Steak Fajitas; however, I’m trying to cut back some on red meat, so I decided to do Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas.
Now, I’m torn on which ones I like the best, they are both amazing!
Can you make Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas in a Ninja Foodi?
Yes! I make these in my Ninja Foodi, honestly, I highly recommend the Ninja Foodi too. It is literally an all-in-one appliance. If you want to learn more about the Ninja Foodi, be sure to check out my “Honest Review of the Ninja Foodi.”
If you make this in the Ninja Foodi, it will be made using the Air Crisp function and the crispier basket that goes inside the pot.
What seasoning should you use for Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas?
I typically will use a Gluten-Free Fajita Seasoning or Taco Seasoning. It really gives the same great taste with whichever you choose. If you want to make your own fajita seasoning, this Homemade Fajita Seasoning is a great option.
This is a good one to keep on hand in your spice cabinet to make these super fast!

What cut of chicken should you use for Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas?
The best chicken to use in the air fryer is chicken thighs. I’d use boneless, skinless chicken thighs to make Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas.
Chicken Thighs do not dry out quickly like chicken breast and they really hold that juicy texture and taste.
If you prefer organic chicken, be sure to chicken out these Organic Bundles of Chicken Products from Perdue Farms. These are fabulous to purchase and keep on hand during the month.
What tortilla should you use for Air Fryer Fajitas?
My husband is not gluten-free, so he prefers flour tortillas, while I prefer white corn tortillas. I highly suggest heating these in your Ninja Foodi or in a skillet.
If you use a Ninja Foodi, I heat mine with a little olive oil spray and use the saute function. It just takes about a minute to heat them up and they get nice and crispy.
This can also be done in a skillet while the fajitas are cooking. I do suggest using some olive oil spray in the pan or pot as well.
Can you prep ahead Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas?
YES! Do you have a thing for freezer meals? These are so easy to add to your freezer stash, simply fresh the ingredients in a freezer-safe storage bag.
Once you are ready to make them, let it thaw out for an hour or two and then add to the air fryer basket. That’s it, just cook and serve. These are the perfect air fryer freezer cooking recipe.
Now that we have that covered, are you ready to have dinner done in 30 minutes?
Let’s make some Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas and add this to your list of Ninja Foodi Recipes!

Wow, love this! Turned out great. Did it in my ninja foodie, ended up cooking it only for about 20 minutes and it was perfect! Thank you!

So cook with air crisp function at 390 degrees?
Mommy Hates Cooking says
Yes, use the air crisp setting for this one in the Foodi.

Just made this in our brand new Foodi. Did it for 25 mins in air crisp and it pretty much disintegrated the onions and the red peppers… The chicken was good but some of it was really really crisp. I did a little differently I mixed all the ingredients in the bowl with a little bit of oil and then put it into the basket.. stirred halfway do I need to reduce the time next time?

Did you use the multi-cooker or grill with the air crisp function? I would do 20 minutes next time then, be sure to check the chicken though to be certain it’s 165*F. I’ve noticed that with the grill, since it preheats the cook time has to be lowered that’s why I’m curious which one you used.

Kristy you just made my house super happy. We have been so busy during this unprecedented time and dinners haven’t been easy. This is something I can pre prep and let the teens cook.

I don’t have a Ninja Foodi and I am trying to decide if I really need one. I have an Instant Pot and I have an air fryer. Do you think I need a Foodi? Want and need are two different things. I know I WANT one. 🙂
Anyway, I made chicken fajitas in the air fryer last night and my husband and I both loved them. He kept saying that he loved them. Thank you for the recipe. I followed it exactly using the air fryer instead of the foodi.
Thank you so much. I will try more of your recipes.

Well I love mine but you probably don’t “need” it if you have the instant pot and air fryer. 😉

Will this recipe work in the Ninja Foodi PS101 digital air fry oven? I just received one for Christmas and having a hard time trying to find a cookbook with normal recipes such as the ones on your Yourtube videos. Thank you.
Mommy Hates Cooking says
Yes, it should work just the same way with the cooking times and the temp.
