A few weeks ago, I had my sister over for a night of crafting! She loves Mod Podge products and well she was in luck because I had a bunch of products to use to craft with. She also was anxious to show me all about making Bottle Cap Magnets for my menu planning board!
What I love about these is that they are so easy to make and perfect for stocking stuffers! These could go along with a memo board to make a great gift or you could simply put them in a stocking by themselves. They can be used on the fridge at home, at work, or in your office. A variety of options abounds for these!
The primary resource for these magnets is the Mod Podge Dimensional Magic Product and the Mod Podge Podgeable Papers.
Supplies Used:
- Bottle Caps
- Dimensional Magic Mod Podge
- Mod Podge Podgeable Papers
- Glitter (Optional)
- 1 Inch Circle Cutter
- Round Magnets
- Craft Glue or Hot Glue
- Memo Board or Menu Planning Board (Optional)
Next it was time to craft! It’s very important to use the circle cutter, we forgot it on our craft night. Our magnets are a little off in circle shape, but they still turned out. If we had the circle cutter though they would be perfect circles, which is what you want.
To start simply use the circle cutter and the podgeable paper to cut out the shapes and designs that you want for your magnets.
Next you simply place a thin amount of the dimensional magic over the paper. This will give it a bubble effect. At this point, you can also sprinkle a little glitter on them too. Bring on the sparkle! Now, it’s time to sit and wait for these to dry overnight. The waiting…that’s the hard part.
It may likely dry faster than overnight; however, just to be on the safe side overnight is usually best but at least a few hours. Once they are completely dry simply glue your magnet onto the back using craft glue or hot glue.
Then, use them to add a little something special to a gift this year or a magnetic surface around your house!
