Do you ever just crave a delicious, warm bowl of soup but have very little time to make it from scratch? Happens to me all the time and especially my husband! He loves creamy soups many times with lots of noodles or dumplings too.
He typically prefers them for lunch, but as a truck driver some days that just does not happen. It’s a little difficult to eat soup on the road, right? That means on the weekends, lunch time is just as good as dinner time at our home!
Our typical weekend is spent as a family. We try to do fun things with the kids while also being home to get chores done around the house too. Almost always my weekend is full of cooking. It’s my prime time for cooking since during the week I don’t have an extra set of hands to help me. I make a lot of our meals on the weekend then save them to heat up throughout the week. It makes dinner time a breeze too.
While I was cooking over the weekend, my husband was craving soup. Of course, everything I was cooking last weekend was sweets and treats for the holidays so we did need something nutritious to eat too. I had picked up some of the Campbell’s Slow Kettle Soups, so he was all set for lunch time.
He picked out the Angus Beef & Dumplings Soup then paired it with an Onion Topped Dinner Roll. The great thing for us with these is that since I mainly cook gluten free, my husband gets a taste of his first loves, bread and noodles! He is not gluten free, so he misses it and loves when I bring home foods that are gluten filled. It’s like a treat for him!

Happy Lunch Time!
