On our drive home from Florida, we were looking forward to passing through Georgia. Why? The peaches of course! We had planned to stop at the Georgia Farmer’s Market, then we saw a sign for Lane Southern Orchards.
We did not know what to expect, but we decided we would take the detour off the highway and stop. We were in for a treat! We pulled up in awe at all the miles of peaches. Then, when we went in we were even more impressed with the store, quality of the product, and the restaurant. The store was beautiful, there was even a window that you could see the employees cleaning and boxing all the peaches.
My husband and I had to practice restraint because everything was merchandised so beautifully we wanted to buy one of each! We ended up with a 25 lb box of Georgia Peaches, Vidalia Onions, and meat seasonings.
After we got home, I knew I had to make Peach Cobbler. I went to Tasty Kitchen to find a great peach cobbler recipe and found Georgia Peach Cobbler. The name of the recipe is fitting, right?
This cobbler is absolutely incredible. This is only the 2nd time I have made cobbler. I have eaten it many times and this was my favorite. The breading was a perfect combination, not to heavy and not to light. The peaches were juicy and crisp. I also added a nice big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Delicious!
This is a great way to end a hot summer day!
