This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miracle-Gro. All opinions are 100% mine.

I mentioned a few weeks back how we are taking the challenge to Gro Something Greater with Miracle-Gro!  This past week, we worked hard (we meaning my husband) on planting our flowers in our flower beds.

The first thing we did this year was replace the trim around them with bricks.  It just gives the whole front of our home a fresh look.  I love adding all the color with beautiful flowers to welcome spring!  As my husband plants each flower he adds the Miracle Gro Shake n’ Feed along the way, he loves the garden variety for his veggies too.  This is his product of choice when planting our flowers.  After using the Shake n’ Feed and a little water, they will be beautiful large flowers in no time!

Now that our flower beds are done, we are heading to the garden to get it planted.  We are planting a little bit later than we normally would.  We decided to wait a bit because the weather has just been plain crazy here in Oklahoma.  We are now in the works though and have our seeds and plants ready to go.  We have a plethora of veggies waiting to hit the soil.

My husband and I grow our own veggies because we love the satisfaction of being able to feed our family with home grown produce.  On good years where we are busting at the seams with crops, we can share even further with friends.  So far, we have been able to do just that each year.  It makes us both happy to see that we can help others with doing something that we love.

I also love the taste of home grown produce, don’t you?  My favorite part of the summer months is being able to use lettuce from my own garden along with cherry tomatoes and a variety of other veggies to make delicious salads.

Along with our garden that is in the works, my favorite part is the herb garden.  I like to plant my herb garden a little bit closer to the house so that I can just walk outside on my patio and grab fresh herbs to add to dinner.  I have a weakness for dill. Yes, dill.  It is by far my favorite!  I like to plant lots of dill weed in the summers which ends up in all sorts of recipes.  My next favorite is a toss up between Cilantro and Rosemary.  I love using the fresh Cilantro in salsa with my fresh tomatoes and onions!

This picture is a few months after we finished planting last year.  I’ll be sharing with you soon our garden this year too.

Why do you grow?  Do you grow to teach your kids about sustainability?  Or to feed your family?  Maybe both?

Let us know why you are Growing Something Greater!

Love to garden and can what is left. I was so intimidated at first, but have learned so much. My mom and I put away 80 jars of zucchini (salsa, pickles And relish) alone last year!
