Recently, a friend of mine shared this great recipe on Facebook for Homemade Play Dough. It may not necessarily be an edible recipe; however, I made this for my son and thought it would be something fun to share.
- 2 Cups Flour
- 4 Tbsp Cream of Tarter
- 1 Cup Salt
- 4 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 2 Cups Water
- Food Coloring
- Start by mixing the dry ingredients and then adding in the remaining ingredients. Stir this until well mixed and microwave for 2 minutes. Take this out and stir it again then microwave for 2 more minutes.
- Let it sit to cool, and then kneed it and time to play!
- This can be stored in an airtight container or Ziploc bag for up to 6 months. Be sure not to omit the Cream of Tarter as this is what makes it last longer.
My son loved this, I will say that it did seem a bit oily so I will probably cut back on the oil the next time around.
He had fun with his 1st experience with play Dough, and I had sudden memories of preschool, thanks to that distinct smell!
