This year is more special to me for the holidays because I’m hosting! We have yet to do Thanksgiving at our home and although I feel highly unprepared, I’m excited to host it! I’m putting off really preparing until a few days before Thanksgiving. I just have so much going on right now, it’s the only way I can avoid getting a little too overwhelmed.
One thing though that I was anxious to do this year was put together a holiday welcome basket with American Home™ by Yankee Candle® Brand, check out their Walmart Assortment Page. Do you have a welcome basket at your home? I really had not thought to do this until recently, then I got so excited I couldn’t wait to try it! Basically I headed to Walmart and picked up an American Home™ by Yankee Candle® Brand, these range anywhere from $4.00-$15.00! Such great prices, I picked up several.
Then, I decided to use various ribbon that I also found at Walmart and ornaments to accentuate the candles. Immediately, I knew that the fragrance, “Santa’s Cookies”, had to be in my cart! I ended up picking that one up in both the large and small candles, you can never have too many of Santa’s Cookies! I also picked up the “Pumpkin Apple Harvest” too. The fragrances were so amazing, it was hard to choose!
I stopped by the holiday decor to grab a few ornaments to add to the candles along with the ribbon. Of course, this does need to be removed before burning the candle, but I love that each guests would get a candle along with an ornament for their tree too.
I filled our basket with a variety of goodies so that each guests had the option of what they would like to take with them as a thank you for stopping by.
Considering that I live further out than most of our friends and family, I thought this was such a great addition to welcoming them to our home for the holidays. I even added a little tree too and bought a few other items such as a ceramic house. I tied together a few cinnamon sticks to add to the basket as well.
Our basket turned out beautiful and so welcoming to see as you walk in the door of our home. Of course, these candles can also be used for gifts for friends, family, and teachers this year! I already have several teachers on my list that I plan to do a similar gift for.
Are you ready for the holidays? We sure are! Head on over to Walmart to pick up all your supplies for a beautiful welcome basket!

There are so many things you can do with these wonderful candles. The only problem is choosing which ones to buy, I love all the fragrances!
