This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walmart. All opinions are 100% mine.
As the holidays grow near, my home is full of baking. My use of butter and baking products goes up thousands of times during the holidays most likely right along with my waistline.
One thing I don’t take for granted especially this time of year is that I live extremely close to Walmart. I won’t lie, sometimes I feel like I am stopping in there every day of the week. Why? I will go to bed and think of a twist on a cookie or holiday treat that I want to try then I have to run out and get ingredients and whip it up!
This year Walmart is making it even easier by creating the Walmart Holiday Cookie & Entertaining site. This site is packed full of creative recipes that are sure to wow your co-workers, friends, and family this year.
I browsed the site for what felt like hours drooling over a variety of recipes including these Reindeer Brownies. How cute are these? I can only imagine the excitement my son will have when we make these.
As I searched the website it made me remember my recipe for Candy Cane Cookies. They are one of my favorite Christmas cookies that I made a few years back. Not only are they festive but they also look beautiful when packaged as gifts.
I make a batch of these which makes several dozen, then I package them up in holiday gift wrap and then put them in boxes to give as gifts. They can also be shipped like that too. Just think how excited a family member or friend would be to open up a surprise box of cookies from you for the holidays? I would love that, hint hint.
Be sure to check out the full recipe for Candy Cane Cookies!
Of course, for shaped Candy Cane Cookies try this recipe. I have yet to try to shape the cookies like candy canes, they look so pretty and perfect for gifts.
One of the items mentioned on the Holiday Cookie website is coffee. My personal favorite. One of my favorite recipes using coffee are my Mocha Cupcakes, which can be eaisly adapted to make into a holiday treat. Of course, you can always just sip on your cup of coffee along with a delicious cookie or brownie.
Remember you can stock up on all your baking items at Walmart too, which is why I am there so much!
Walmart carries several including:
– Smucker’s®
– Jif®
– Pillsbury®
– Eagle Brand®
– Crisco®
– Hungry Jack®
– Folgers®
I want to know what are some of your must haves for the holiday baking and cooking season? I know right along with cookies are snack mixes for me.
