Happy Gardening! How is your gardening going? Have you planted yet? We have ours planted; however, we keep thinking of a few more things we want to plant.
We also had a cold snap and luckily as far as we can tell our crops are still doing pretty good!
Now, today I wanted to talk herbs. Herbs are by far my favorite thing to plant because I use them so much in my cooking. I typically use different types like rosemary, cilantro, parsley, and dill weed nearly every day. It pains me to buy them at the store when I know I could grow them myself. So, I look forward to having them right outside my back door.
Now, I know many people grow them year round. I have yet to figure out how to keep my lasting year round. Move them in maybe? How do you keep them growing year round?
This year, I have so many that I want to plant that my husband is planning to build me one large box to attach to our back deck. This way I have them all right outside our door and can easily get to them. Currently, we have 3 little planters that are screwed onto the railing on the deck for herbs. I’m simply outgrowing those planters.
Do you have a favorite herb to grow? I’d have to say mine is a toss up between dill weed which is my all time running favorite and rosemary which is coming in to be a close call with dill weed. Don’t you love how I talk about my herbs as if they are in competition?
Yes, I know…it’s odd.
My questions for you, what’s your favorite herb? Plus, how do you keep yours safe and growing year round?

I love them all! lol Yes I’m a gardener, can’t wait to share and learn them with you all here! 🙂 Hurry comes spring! (I live in Vermont wishing living in south, but someday we will retire to live in south in about 6 years 😉 Yes I LoVermont, but gardening up here is short season, but I’d love to try growing greens in the greenhouse during cold weather so I finally got me a 10 x 10 white plastic covered greenhouse last year. Just don’t know how or what to do with it for the fall crops to grow for the winter yet. lol Cheers! your pal
