As we move through January, many of us are setting out to eat healthier or to clean up some of our overeating from the holidays. I’m not admitting to how many cookies I consumed in the last month. Yikes.
Last week, I shared some of my favorite salad recipes and this week I’m going to share 10 of my favorite healthier breakfast ideas. Also, keep in mind, I am in no way qualified to give health advice or determine what is healthy for you, these are simple recipes that I have made in the past that work for my diet.
When I think of breakfast, I immediately think of protein and for myself I try to get in protein with each breakfast meal. Sometimes this means running out the door in a mad dash to get my son to school on time and grabbing a protein bar. Then, other times it means warming up one of my omelets in a pan to eat with a slice of toast. Right now, during this move it’s becoming more of the protein bar situation; however, once we get settled in, I will be back to making breakfast items and freezing them so that we have them on hand in the mornings.

These look like fantastic ideas for breakfast! Will try some of them. Usually I make overnight oats and have those every morning. They are so good, and so many flavor combinations, I am loving them!
I tried the overnight oats once and it didn’t work for me, I think I did something wrong. I’m going to try them again though…anything that cooks overnight is perfect for breakfast!
The overnight oats I make are not cooked. I use the recipes from “MY Whole Food Life” and she makes oats that you put in the fridge and grab one the next morning. I love them cold, the oats get creamy and she has several variations on them. I don’t really like hot oats too much. I tried the overnight oats in my slow cooker and they weren’t too tasty. You might like the ones on her blog, they are really good, and I eat those every morning for breakfast.
These are truly impressive ideas concerning blogging. You have touched some
good factors here.
Would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working
with? I’m going to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a difficult time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution
and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems
different then most blogs and I’m looking for something
unique.
