It’s summer and that means lots of activities and on-the-go snacks are necessary! We love our Granola Trail Mix paired with Chicken Melts for a grab and go snack. This post is written in partnership with Sandwich Bros. of Wisconsin, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Are you on summer break yet? We are just about two weeks into our break now, and so far it’s going well! We have done a few activities including the pool and the lake and then of course we had to get to the library and sign up for the reading program. I think that may actually be my son’s favorite part of summer, he loves to read. Now, we are starting basketball camp and then soon heading out on vacation. I’d say summer has started off well, but we’ve also been on-the-go a lot each day. One way we prepare is by prepping snacks or lunches to take with us, that also helps save money too. We recently whipped up this simple Granola Trail Mix and paired it with our favorite Chicken Melts from Sandwich Bros. of Wisconsin.
I love to make trail mix because it’s very simple, it’s also much more cost effective to make your own as opposed to purchasing at the store, so I simply mix together granola, chocolate chips, marshmallows, and raisins to make this Granola Trail Mix. This is one of our favorites, I used to eat this quite a bit as a snack too when I was pregnant. It was one of those pregnancy cravings that stuck around long after I had the baby. That happens, right?
I make these and put them in little storage containers so that we have them for snacks. Then, I’ve also been preheating Chicken Melts on the way out the door to take with us as well. We can easily eat them on-the-go and even at the park as a picnic lunch. We’ve found a park not far from our home that we are enjoying picnic lunches at. It’s a great way to mix up the daily routine.
The Chicken Melts are lightly breaded and stuffed inside a delicious pita and then topped with Real Wisconsin Cheese. These are the family favorite in our home. My kids love them as does my husband too! I love that they are a filling option for the kids and just the right size too. They can easily be a meal or a snack depending on what time of day it is!
Now are you ready for a great on-the-go meal today? Be sure to whip up a batch of this Granola Trail Mix and stock up on Chicken Melts at your local grocery store.
Enjoy!
