Just in time for the holidays, this Gluten-Free Caramel Apple Crisp is perfect to share with friends.
It’s almost Thanksgiving and in the midst of that, I love making delicious fall desserts like this Gluten-Free Caramel Apple Crisp. I actually have made about a dozen of these just in the past month to take to friends and family. This recipe is so simple to make and great to make gluten-free too with a simple switch of flour. The key ingredient for this recipe is the Lucky Leaf Caramel Apple Pie Filling, it’s absolutely perfect in this dish.
I used this filling in many recipes recently including my Caramel Apple Cake and then last year in a No-Bake Caramel Apple Pie. It’s just the perfect combination of apples and caramel all mixed into a beautiful filling. This particular recipe is wonderful to take to dinners and to friends and family. I actually love to make it and put it in a to-go container then decorate it with twine and share with friends.
My husband and I love to serve this crisp warm with a little bit of whipped topping or vanilla ice cream. We always seem to have this on a day where we have chili for dinner, it’s just such a wonderful fall treat. When making it if you prefer gluten-free it’s easy to make gluten-free with a gluten-free all-purpose flour, but you can also do it with regular flour if that is not a need for you. Often, I am ask by those that aren’t gluten-free of a good dessert to make for a friend that is, this is certainly the one! There is often not a bite of this dish left after a day in our house, that’s why I give so many away too, I could eat it all by myself!
Are you ready for a delicious bite? It’s time to eat up!
Enjoy!

What a time-saver this recipe would be for the host/hostess of Thanksgiving dinner: baking something to meet the needs of both gluten-free guests and those without those restrictions. One dessert that covers both bases frees up valuable cooking time that would otherwise be spent trying to prepare separate desserts.
As I was reading through, I was thinking that gosh, I could use cherry filling with this recipe too, for my cherry-filling-fan husband 🙂
On another note, while I’ve purchased Lucky Leaf before, I’d never noticed their caramel apple variety ~ I’m going to take a look-see the next time I make a trip to the grocery store.
Yes you could!! When I made it I had the same thought that I may have to try it with different flavors too!
This looks like a great dessert for Thanksgiving! One thing about fall, my favorite fruit has the best recipes! I love anything Apple and when you throw in Caramel? Manna from Heaven!
I’ve never tried the Lucky Leaf Brand. I will have to look in my stores for them and see what else they offer! Thank you for sharing! I’ll be adding this recipe to my recipe box! Happy Holidays!
I hope you enjoy it! Happy Holidays to you too!
First of all yum. Second….this looks easy. Third, I’m going to make it.
It’s so easy and so yummy, hope you enjoy it!
What a beautiful recipe! I’m always so amazed to see items in a can when I read American blogs – it’s not really something you get a lot of here in the UK! Really lov the idea behind thanksgiving though getting the family together and eating a lovely meal. You can’t go wrong!
The smell of cooked apples is so lovely though. Always reminds me when my daughter was just starting to try food and we’d puree apples for a treat. Such a happy memory. That’s the great thing about cooking – one whiff and you go right back to that moment.
That’s a beautiful memory!
I have not had Apple crisp in years, but you make me want to go out and give it a try. My grandmother use to make when I was a child so I am excited to see how I do.
Save me a piece! I love the combination of apples and caramel. It is perfect for fall. I would also add in some ice cream or perhaps a bit of coffee to go with on the side! SO GOOD!
Should this be refrigerated?
I do normally refrigerate the leftovers and then reheat it.
