Give a Gift & Make a Change with CARE

It’s time to give a gift that truly makes a difference, I’m sharing how you can do just that with CARE.org. 

It’s true, we all have a story, right?  Each one of us has a unique set of circumstances and a story that led us to exactly where we are today.  It also never fails that exactly when you think you have a normal everyday life, something changes, right?  That happened to us a few years ago now, things were just peachy, or so I thought.  Then, a new piece of information popped up and we had to face some very hard, real issues head on.  It happens, right?  We are all at different places in life, but the thing is sometimes we get wrapped up in our own situation and forget that there are people all around the WORLD that need love, support, and help too.  That’s not to say, we don’t also, but it’s vital to give to others, it’s what makes this world a better place, right?  I sure think so.

This year, I’ve just learned of several ways actually to give back.  I never realized that you can partner up with many organizations such as CARE.org and purchase gifts to help those in other countries around the world.  It’s as simple as purchasing 2 chickens.  Now, that’s something that you don’t think of when gift giving, right?  Those chickens though can feed a family in another country and give them a vital source of protein.  I think about the fact that we have several chickens and to us, we didn’t really think twice about purchasing those, I can’t imagine the feeling of not being fed.  I know even when my kids say they are ‘so hungry’, I think about how they truly don’t know what it is like to be ‘hungry’, the fridge is always full.  It’s something so many times I know I personally even take it for granted, when really it’s a blessing that we need to be thankful for on a daily basis.

I say all of this to say, it’s time to browse the CARE.org catalog and see how you can give back.  There are all sorts of gifts that can be purchased to help those in other countries from school books to animals, and a variety of price ranges as well.  By partnering with CARE.org and just purchasing an item from their catalog, you are reaching beyond your own circumstances and helping someone else in another part of the country.  It’s truly an amazing thing to be part of, plus what a blessing it is to those that receive the gift.

What I find amazing is that on December 5th-16th on the Facebook Page for CARE.org, the women and girls that have received these gifts will be speaking live to tell their stories.  I can’t wait to be part of this and hear the stories of these girls, I am certain it’s unlike anything we would hear about on a daily basis.  These women are changing the world around them and the gifts we give will help them do even more.
