Disclosure: Our room was provided in exchange for the review; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Do you ever just need a break? Especially as a parent too, trying to juggle the weight of every possible situation? I do! A few weeks ago, I even ended up in the hospital because of all that weight. What does this mean? A girls trip was necessary!
My friends and I hopped in the car, chatted it up all the way to the big city just a few hours away. Yes, big city meaning Oklahoma City. That’s our big city around here.
The great thing is that when we got there, our hotel looked like it came straight from New York City. We stayed at the Colcord Hotel in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City.
The Colcord Hotel was actually completed in 1910 and was then known as the Colcord Building. It was actually the first skyscraper in Oklahoma City and is now considered a historical landmark for the city.
Of course it has now been updated, but our first impression was luxury with the original marble all over the entrance and main area of the hotel. They even have a letterbox and elevator doors that are all original.
Now, you can find the hotel completely updated but with glimpses of the history of it too. They had it decorated for Christmas, again looking like it came out of New York City, the decorations were beautiful.
As we headed to our room, were greeted with an entry way, then soft, cozy beds to dive into! The bathroom was big and luxurious with robes that you could melt in.
I would say my favorite part was the complimentary coffee service, delivered right to our door. It was fresh and delicious, plus we didn’t have to make it.
We enjoyed our stay so well and we were refreshed after a full day of shopping! I think we literally shopped til we dropped. On the bright side, I’m almost done with Christmas shopping.
If you are heading to Oklahoma City soon, be sure to stay at the Colcord Hotel and let us know what you think!
