My husband has been hard at work in his garden. I feel like some nights I have lost him to gardening. He stays out there all afternoon, pruning and watering. Last week, I found a sketch of our backyard with a drawing of a bigger garden. Apparently next year bushes will be removed and a larger garden will be planted.
I am so happy he found a hobby that works along with my job because I am loving all the fresh produce that is growing! I can hardly wait to get started on recipes using it.
Last week, he had to transplant the beans from the containers to the garden bed because they were getting too large. We have already been bringing in lots of beans!
We have a few tomato plants packed with tomatoes! This is the baby tomato plant, then we have a larger tomato plant. I am anxious to taste these!
We also have so many green peppers this year. We may have over done the pepper plants; however, I know that I can come up with 100’s of recipes using these. I am looking forward to not having to buy them at the store!
Lastly, we have okra coming up as well. I think this will be my husband’s favorite.
I am so impressed with our garden this year. It has turned out so much better than last year; however, I am hoping it will survive the Oklahoma heat!

Wow! Good job! Our garden is still tiny but I’m looking forward to the harvest! We’ve got tomatoes, snap pea, carrots, onions, jalapeños and lots more! Happy harvesting! 😉
