Look at that peeking through at me in the garden! The squash have officially taken over. I have now learned it was not a good idea to plant them so close to my other veggies. I may not have much from my garden, but I’m so proud of my squash. The taste is divine, we’ve already grilled them with our kabobs and they were delicious!
I was actually pretty shocked with how big they grew to be. I am looking forward to more, and I am still holding on the hope that more of my produce will grow.
Even better when we came home from our vacation last night, our neighbor kept up with the garden. He had a whole stack of squash on our back porch. Looks like I’ll be sharing some squash with my family!
How is your garden going? Have you had a great crop this year? Do share!

I’m proud of them too! Will they keep till fall? I have a black thumb especially this summer so I know nothing about gardening and keeping veggies. But Squash Casserole is one of my favorite things to eat during fall or any time… and my husband is the one who makes it! 🙂
I just realized I do know that there is Summer Squash and Winter Squash… is this Summer Squash? Any time I think of Squash I automatically assume fall is around the corner… shows how much I know.
Kristy, I am trying to grow summer squash, too, but mine is Bush Squash. It is flat, white and round with scalloped edges. When I was a kid, we had them fried in cornmeal. They were so good! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I’m hoping to duplicate that experience.
