Do you have nights where you need an easy meal? Or better yet…who doesn’t have nights when they don’t need an easy meal?!
I have mentioned a few times now that I am really impressed with the Kraft Recipe Makers! I have tried a few of them and essentially they make dinner time much less of a hassle because all of your spices and/or sauces are right there in the box for you!
I also like that I can make several of them gluten free by using my own gluten free products to compliment them. I would advise though that you read the ingredients carefully as each one includes different ingredients.
This particular night, I decided to try the Tex-Mex Chicken only I decided to serve it in taco bowls! I also needed this to be quick dinner, so I used pre-cooked grilled chicken strips to cut out the cook time for the chicken.
Next all you do is open up your box and follow the instructions as they are on the box. At this point, I simply added the chicken and part of the simmer sauce to a skillet to warm it up.
I tossed my chicken in the skillet completely frozen too, then just let it simmer for about 5 minutes until it warmed up!
Then, for this particular recipe, I added peppers, onions, and rice to the skillet as well just as instructed on the package. While these items were heating up I was making my taco bowls, which you can find the tutorial on that here on this post for Mini Taco Salads.
Once the bulk of my dinner was ready, all we did was put a little bit of the filling inside a taco bowl and top it with cheese and a pinch of cilantro. These would also be great topped with sour cream and salsa as well!
Although I generally make most of our meals from scratch, this dinner took just under 20 minutes to prepare from start to finish the longest part was simply warming up the bowls. Once those were done it was simple.
In the midst of this busy season we are in between kids and school plus extra activities and of course work too, I have been trying to do simple means in the kitchen to be able to spend as much time with my family as possible in the evenings. Kraft Recipe Makers helped me accomplish that. I easily got dinner on the table, cleaned up, then we were out the door to spend the evening outdoors in this crisp, fall weather!
Not only do I love how easy the Kraft Recipe Makers are, I also love how you can make them with a variety of different meals. For instance this Tex-Mex Chicken could be used on top of lettuce for a taco salad or on top of nachos too!
