How do you celebrate summer?  Pool party? Lake trip?  Maybe a trip to the beach?  We typically end up either doing a backyard cookout or heading to the lake.  I am still really working on convincing my husband that we really NEED a pool.  It’s funny because when we actually were looking at homes 5 years ago, we were both adamant that we wanted a home without a pool.  We had babies though and it was a huge safety issue for me in particular.  Now though, the kids are bigger and more water aware, plus know how to swim, now I truly feel comfortable with a pool…and wish we had one.

Someday, right?  I just think what a great way to work.  I work from home, so I can easily work outside by the pool while the kids play.  Sounds dream, doesn’t it?  I sure think so.  Although, I think I’d be playing with them more than actually working but that’s okay too!

Now, of course when you have guests over, it’s not too long until everyone is ready for a bite to eat, right?  The best part of summer is all the tasty foods that you can serve your guests.  One of my all time favorites are cheese and snack boards.  The great thing with a snack board is that you can mix a lot of different items together and really get something for everyone.  For this summer snack board, we combined fresh fruits with Blue Diamond Nut-Thins, Blue Diamond Gourmet Almonds, and Sabra Red Roasted Red Pepper Hummus.  We added cheese of course, then we also added a variety of items to dip in the hummus too.

My daughter was all about this snack board.  She just could not get enough of those Blue Diamond Gourmet Almonds.  These are all new at Walmart.  They are a combination of Gourmet Garlic, Herb, and Olive Oil coated over almonds.  They are made with high-quality nonpareil almonds paired with chef inspired seasonings.  The almonds are perfectly seasoned and absolutely wonderful to share with friends and family.

Next up, another favorite for my daughter and I is Sabra Hummus.  We actually purchase this every week on our regular grocery list.  This time we branched out and chose the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus.  It’s the perfect choice for dipping for a summer snack.  We usually dip carrots or in this case we also used the Blue Diamond Nut-Thins for dipping.

Blue Diamond Nut-Thins are made with real Blue Diamond® Almonds, plus they are gluten free.  That means this snack board can easily be made gluten free and perfect for a wide range of friends and family.  They have no artificial flavors and give a nice crispy, crunchy texture to be dipped in your hummus.

We went with items that would be enjoyed by all.  I also prefer cheese cubes on this especially when serving little ones, they are just easy to grab and go.  Simply get a board, I used a wood cutting board and arrange all of your items for your snack board.  It ends up looking beautiful and it’s simple to put together too!

Each of these items can easily be picked up at Walmart, plus if you are like me go for the grocery pickup.  Seriously, I can’t say enough good things about grocery pick up.  It’s made me incredibly loyal to shopping at Walmart because of the convenience and time it saves me.
