Guess what? We got a LOAD of dirt! I never thought I would see someone so happy about dirt before…then I saw my husband the day this came in. He was smiling ear to ear! My son was just as excited to see a dump truck coming into our yard. I have to say I was not so sure to be excited or run to the store to get some high power detergent for dirty clothes!
Once he dropped it off it was time to load it to the backyard or in my son’s opinion he needed to be the ‘King of the Dirt Mountain.’
I have to say sometimes it’s okay to let them ruin their clothes and just be a kid! He did that and then some. Once the dirt got to the garden he laid in it as if he was taking a nap and just relaxing. How can someone be so excited about dirt? Oh yeah he’s a little boy…and from the look on my husband’s face when this dirt load came in, some things never change!
We are still talking about what we are planting. We have onions, squash, blueberries, tomatoes, green bell peppers, okra, and after that we are still up for discussion. I need some ideas! What are you planting? Let me know, what should we plant? Anything in particular work better for you than others?
Next week, I’ll share with you more on our progress. This week has been all about moving dirt and getting the garden prepped. By that I mean, my husband has moved a TON of dirt! Not sure how he is still standing…
I’m going to go get my herb containers ready to plant too…that I can handle!
Let us know, what are you planting this year?

I love planting pole beans. One packet gives you tons of green beans and they are super easy to blanch and freeze. Fresh green beans are so good!
