It’s time to enjoy the upcoming holidays season and these tips for decorating the front porch for fall. This post is sponsored by BSN Media; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own. #AtHomeStores #AtHomeFinds #Sponsored
As we head into fall, it is my favorite season and also my favorite time to decorate for fall holidays such as Halloween and Thanksgiving. These past many years now we always host Thanksgiving, so I love to have our front porch and entry way decorated for the holiday to welcome guests.
I prefer to keep it themed to last from September to November, so I tend to keep it more focused on pumpkins, beautiful colors, and harvest related theme. I always keep this in mind when I’m shopping for items for our fall themed front porch. I also like to add in a little bit of natural items like mums or real pumpkins into the mix too. Those I do have to refresh a bit over the months, but they bring such a great color to the setup too. I decided this year to head to our local At Home store to pick up some new additions to our fall themed front porch.
My daughter joined me on our shopping trip, it’s always good to teach them young all about decorating, right? She was just as excited as I was to pick out some items to decorate with, she even found several things we will be heading back for when we start decorating for Christmas too. I really enjoy that the At Home store featured everyday low prices, which allows me to decorate on a budget. I can also always find exactly what I’m looking for with their huge selection, most of the time I find more than what I’m looking for. That’s okay though, isn’t it?
I picked up all that I needed for our front porch for just under $100, then we went to work getting it all decorated for the upcoming fall parties and holidays. I decided to keep it fitting to my country decor side with hay bales, pumpkins, fall floral arrangements, and a fun yard decor item with the red truck.
We decided to personalize the setup too with our initial. I even found some wonderful iron pumpkin baskets that had letters on them too, sadly I couldn’t find our letter that day but I highly suggest picking up one of those for the porch or even the mantle.
Now as we setup our front porch, here are a few tips for you when decorating your porch area.
5 Decorating Tips for a Fall Front Porch
- Stick to particular color pallet, possibly focus on a hero item and then create your setup based on that.
- Add layers and dimension, in our case the hay bales created more layers.
- Mix in some natural products with your reusable products. This can be done by mixing in fresh flowers and hay bales with reusable pumpkins and signage.
- Stock up over the years. Remember you can always add to your collection for the holidays and add a new item each year so that you do not get overwhelmed by purchasing many at once.
- Remember it’s outside, be sure to keep this in mind while shopping because there will be windy or rainy days and the items you purchase, be sure they will weather well.
As we go through the holidays, I look forward to more visits to the At Home store because I found a few more things I plan to add to our setup over the upcoming months. I’m also now planning out my Christmas setup too with a few items I picked up as well.
