I hope you all are enjoying the Decades of Desserts series! I am enjoying digging through old recipes and recreating them especially since many of them I have never tried before!
One that caught my eye was this simple Savannah Bread. It’s basically a Peanut Butter Banana Bread, I would actually think adding chocolate chips would be perfect because it definitely has a very strong peanut butter flavor.
I made this gluten free with a simple switch of flours, then served it up with a cold glass of milk.
One of the things I love about all of these recipes that were in my aunt’s collection is that they almost all use pantry staples. Nearly all the recipes I have the items for in my pantry without having to run out to the store.
That’s a win for me and I am sure that many of these women that wrote the recipes at that time were cooking from their pantry as well, just as most of us are.
I made this bread using 1 loaf pan, but you could also use a bundt pan and make it a bit larger too. It would be perfect for a morning brunch!
Enjoy!
