Find out how you can age in your home but feel peace of mind with connected independence in a Cox Smart Home.
This post is sponsored by Cox Communications; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Are you caring for your aging parents or maybe that’s a possibility in the future? I was able to tour a Cox Smart Home this past week in Edmond, Oklahoma and the entire home was designed with connected independence in mind. This means it’s a home that can work with you as you age. Wouldn’t that be amazing?
In this home there were more than 50 different devices that were available to help those living in the home, it actually would work for a variety of families. My personal favorite was watching the demonstration in the kitchen by Whitney Bond. She took us through a smart kitchen, that means appliances that you can literally turn on from your phone.
That’s right!
Appliances that turn on from your phone.
If you are running home from work a little late and want the oven ready to go when you get there, you simply turn it on to preheat from your phone. Then, there is an app that is on the phone that can tell you if your fridge is shut, if the oven is turned off, and how your water filters are too. It’s amazing!
Of course, it was equip with smart small appliances too, like a slow cooker that you can control and turn on as well from your phone. Honestly, it was amazing. That means if you left the house, all you need to do is check your app and you can be sure that everything is shut and the house is secure.
I mean how many times have you left for vacation and come back home just to be sure that you did shut the garage?
With a smart home that is all done for you, giving you peace of mind.
Next stop on our tour was learning more about Cox Homelife. This is a system that is setup to keep you safe and secure in your home.
Not only that but we also found out that a system is in place to allow you to dial 911 and connect to a professional to get assistance immediately just by saying the words “Call 911”. That means immediately you have help that you need without ever picking up your phone.
Of course on top of that you could literally have your doctor on call in seconds to do an appointment and check up with you via technology instead of going in the office.
There were so many different gadgets that just blew my mind from robots to a fork that monitors your food intake. It was all covered to truly show how you can age in place and in your own home. Of course, there was an appearance by Alexa as well and she showed us how to party in the kids rooms.
There was even a digital dog and cat, complete with a dog food bowl too. It’s all there! So many options to customize.
The amount of technology readily at our finger tips these days is just amazing. Plus to think that just a few years ago most of this technology was not even around yet!
I highly suggest checking out more with Cox Communications and how you can create your own smart home.
