Classic Dill Club Sandwich with Castle Wood Lunch Meat
Have you ever had a sandwich that was so good you simply had to make it yourself at home on a regular basis? Well, that is exactly how I feel about club sandwiches. What can I say, I love meat and a variety of it just makes my sandwich even better!
This past week I headed out to Sam’s Club to look for Castle Wood Lunch Meat. I’ll admit I had not knowingly tried it yet at this point, but once I found all the varieties available plus the affordable price, I was shocked I waited so long! I was able to pick up a variety pack which included all the meats that I needed for this delicious sandwich!
Not only did they have several variety packs but also packs that included meat and cheese! The perfect combination for any sandwich. I also needed to pick up some bacon for my sandwich. I did mention I was going for a meaty sandwich, right?
I picked up this great value pack that included 3 types of meat. Then, I had to come home and build my sandwich. Another secret to a great sandwich in my opinion is the sauce! I wanted to include my favorite dill spread on the sandwich as opposed to a mayo or dressing. I like to make this spread and then keep it on hand for sandwich making throughout the week. It’s a simple combination of greek yogurt, sour cream, and lots of dill weed!
Then, it was time to build my sandwich. I included 4 different types of meat, cheese, lettuce, and tomato along with my dill spread! I used Udi’s gluten free bread for my sandwich and then used regular bread for my husband. This is the perfect way to serve a meal gluten free or not!
- Dill Spread:
- 6 Oz Nonfat Greek Yogurt- Plain
- 1/2 Cup Nonfat Sour Cream
- 1 Tbsp Dill Weed
- Regular or Gluten Free Bread
- 1 Slice Swiss Cheese
- 1 Slice Black Forest Ham
- 1 Slice Smoked Turkey
- 1 Slice Angus Roast Beef
- 2-3 Slices Cooked Bacon
- Dill Spread
Begin by mixing the ingredients for the dill spread. This should make enough for sandwiches throughout the week as well.
Next, toast your bread if you prefer then build your sandwich. I use the dill spread on both pieces of toast, then I layer it with lettuce, tomato, meats and cheese!
Slice and Serve!
Not only is this a great sandwich for an daily meal, but it is also perfect to cut into smaller portions and serve at a party! I was won over by this delicious lunch meat, find out more about it on Twitter at #MealsTogether and Facebook!
