When I started my blog, I was out of the loop when it came to cooking, which I realized very quickly. I kept seeing several dishes and desserts that it seemed everyone knew about, but I didn’t! One of the desserts I began to see frequently was Whoopie Pies.
I looked up a few recipes for them and almost always they contained 4-8 sticks of butter. This put my mind at ease knowing that I would never be trying these because I cannot bring myself to use that much butter! That was until I came across this recipe for Heart Shaped Whoopie Pies, which only contain 1 stick of butter. That I can handle!
I learned after making these they are so good that I will probably only make them when I’m taking them somewhere. Why? Because I could not stay out of them!
Be sure to watch the cook time, I left them in there about a minute too long which caused them to crack a bit on the top. I also did not have the whoopie pie pan, so I used a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Then, I sprayed it with non stick cooking spray. I made them round with a tablespoonful of batter.
The taste was amazing, it was the perfect sweet treat!
