The last time I shared with you about the Planes Movie was last winter when the first Planes was released on DVD. We celebrated with a BIG Family Movie Night.
My son actually still talks about all his Planes inspired food and ask us to recreate that movie night frequently!
It only makes sense that he is already getting excited about the new Planes: Fire & Rescue that comes out later this month. We went to see a movie for his birthday and he was able to see the preview. My son and nephew were immediately planning their next movie date to see Planes.
One of the main themes of Planes is Passion. It’s passion to see your dream through to completion and passion for a goal in life. As my son and I talked about this we also talked about the passion he has.
Currently, he is passionate about reading. He’s just realized that he can actually read by sounding out words. I was actually shocked the first time he picked up a book and started reading the words, I did not even know he could do that! Of course when that happened I was stocking up on books for his reading level like a crazy mommy.
Right before school ended this year, they had a book fair at school where he picked up a Planes book to read. He has since read it regularly, developing the same passion displayed in the movie for different aspects of his life.
I decided since he loves Planes so much to take him on a trip to Walmart to pick out some Planes gear. We found the perfect shirt for him in his size, plus a Planes backpack.
As we picked up the backpack, I reminded him that there is backpack drive going on at our church for little boys and girls that need new backpacks. That led to a discussion about giving back and helping others, so he decided that he is going to donate his new backpack to a little boy at our church in our backpack drive.
I love seeing passion in his eyes for not only something like reading but also giving back to those who need it more than he does.
Are you ready to experience Planes: Fire & Rescue with your kids? Remember to talk about those core values with your kids too!
Happy Wednesday!

He must be as passionate about giving as he is about reading, giving his new backpack up like that! #Client
