Now that most of us all have kids back in school, it’s time to breathe for just a minute, right? I always feel like over the summer everything is more laid back and relaxing. I mean even getting up in the morning, we just wake up without an alarm clock around here.
Then, back to school hits and suddenly the alarm is going of at an ungodly hour and the morning rush sets in to get out of the door on time to make it to school. This year, we have a 30 mile drive basically to get to school too, that’s always fun! Not! The school is absolutely worth the drive though, so I can’t complain.
Sometimes though we need a break and we need to just celebrate the lives we have and the opportunity we have each day with family and friends. Why not celebrate with a Bigelow Tea Party?
Now, this tea party can be done with just the moms after school starts, but it can also be with moms and kids. Why? Because herbal tea is actually a good option for both adults and kids. It’s caffeine free and comes straight from herbs that are able to help us naturally.
One that we love is the Cozy Chamomile. This is great during homework time or after school to help the kids relax, add a touch of honey to it and they will love it…so will you!
We also love to make ours iced too especially during the Oklahoma heat!
I am in a season where most of my friends have little ones still at home with them or many also homeschool too. So our party would include kids as well, which means lots of tasty herbal tea option and even a little juice too.
I decided to go with lots of sweet treats and fruit for our morning tea party.
Now, my favorite part was this adorable cake! This is SO easy to recreate at home without any baking on your part. All I did was buy a white cream cake, then I placed a little tea cup on top as the topper. I also added a flower to it as well. Viola, done!
It looks like you spent hours on it, but really you had a little help. Shhh…I won’t tell.
Next on the list, I decided to compliment the tea with a variety of breads and muffins. Then, I made a little fruit mix with strawberries and blueberries.
Since the tea is the integral part of the party, I had a kettle of hot water ready to go on the table for others to enjoy their tea. I was also anxious to use this antique tea set that was passed down to me from my grandma. I love that the saucer is big enough to hold the tea and food too!
Once we had our tea and food it was time to sit back, relax, and enjoy company with others. It’s always nice to have some face to face time and rejuvenating.
