Isn’t he adorable? I just love this man and that he is super handy and understands that I love a garden, but he is usually the one that does the hard labor, well cooking is hard labor too right? Maybe not, but typically I let him know how I want to do the garden he gives me his advice, I plant and then he keeps it up.
It’s not that I do not like gardening or that I do not want to, trust me, I am beyond excited. I have a horrible fear though, of those things that slither around on the ground and can be spotted in the garden. If I see one it’s likely I’ll faint…and possibly pee my pants. Yep, true.
It’s a fear that has left me gardening from the side lines or in my planters that are high above ground, like my herb garden.
Once the fruit and veggies though are growing, I pick them, clean them, and cook with them.
This year, we are doing an 8×8 garden, that we have sectioned off. Next, we had to fence it off to not only keep the critters out but also our lab. She tends to eat what we grow.
We once had a pear tree. The pears fell to the ground, she ate them…we smelled them. I will leave it at that.
Now, that we have the garden built, my husband tilled up the 8×8 area and now we are just planning to add some more soil then get to planting!
Happy Sunday!

I’m hoping to get the gardening bug this year. I’ve had a patio garden for at least 5 years that’s never been used. I think that’s the way to go so that I’m not intimidated by it.
Yours looks great. Have fun with is what I’m told ha
So fun! I am so jealous of how much you always seem to accomplish. I have all of these things I WANT to do but just never get around to doing them. Can’t wait to see how productive your garden is!
Beautiful! We wanted to use the chicken wire too this year but it’s not tall enough to keep the darn deer out! Augh!
