Are you ready to get your day started? Start it with a Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothie!
Start the morning with a delicious Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothie. It’s a wonderful thick smoothie that is also gluten free too.
Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothie
These past few weeks, we have really had spring fever around here! How could we not though, it’s been nearing 80 degrees! We spent almost all of last weekend outside cleaning the flower beds.
Then, my husband got the tiller ready so that we can soon till up our garden too. It’s almost time for lots and lots of fresh produce, and lately I’ve been stocking up on blueberries just for this smoothie.
Why do you add oatmeal to a smoothie?
I originally shared this post last year, but as we are heading back from vacation I thought I’d share it again, since I was really craving one too! I love to add oats to my smoothies because it gives it a more thickened texture.
I think this year we may even head to a blueberry farm and pick our own berries.
As we spend our days cleaning up the outside and enjoying a little fresh air these Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothies are a great way to get some added nutrients.
My husband absolutely LOVED these and was begging for more minutes after I made this one. My son was on the fence about the addition of peanut butter, my husband and I loved these with the peanut butter.
It’s completely optional though and up to you and your taste.
I decided to pack ours full of blueberries, yogurt, peanut butter, and honey. The best part though was the ground up oats that gives it a bit of a thicker consistency.
I typically will add about a cup of oats to the blender and grind them up by themselves so they aren’t too chunky, then I add in the rest of the ingredients to make the smoothie.
Are you ready for this treat? It’s time to sip up and enjoy!

Absolutely delicious! I have been making this for a while now. Initially I tried to alter it a bit but once I made it it per the recipe it has become an instant favorite for my daughter and I and saves us from spending $20 at the fancy smoothie store! I will admit I do add extra blueberries, but only because they are just soo good!
