Enjoy the summer with these BBQ Chicken Skewers paired with garden fresh veggies and made with French’s Tomato Ketchup. I’m sharing French’s® in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™. #FrenchsCrowd #FrenchsKetchup.
This month has just been so full of activity, has it been for you? It’s our final few weeks before summer vacation is over and the kids are back to school, so we have been really soaking in every minute these days. We were forced to slow down a bit because a few weeks ago we brought a puppy home and that has definitely caused the days on the go to slow down a bit, or maybe I should say we just seem to be coming and going a bit more to be sure that she’s taken care of too. We’ve also spent days at the pool, kiddie park, and the lake too. Plus, the kids just finished up a camp last week and have one more next week, then it’s back to school.
In the midst of all the activity, we also enjoy just spending time at home, enjoying some grilled food outside and playing with our dogs. I recently made these BBQ Chicken Skewers paired with homemade sauce using French’s Tomato Ketchup and they were perfect! I even paired them with fresh okra and squash straight from our garden. The great thing is now French’s Tomato Ketchup is free of artificial flavors, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, and gluten. It’s made with US grown tomatoes, and perfect for you plus full of flavor!
I have to admit I used to have a hard time finding ketchup at the store that didn’t have high fructose corn syrup, which meant then I couldn’t find any BBQ sauce without it either, so I’ve been making my own sauce for a while now. The great thing is though, now products do exist that don’t have these additives and I’m excited that French’s is one of those companies that has created great products for their consumers.
Once I made our sauce, I simply coated it over the chicken thighs that I had placed on skewers. It’s simple to grill and quick too, then you can even add some reserved sauce for serving. My kids love ‘chicken on a stick’ so these chicken skewers tend to make a regular appearance on our menu.
What are some of your summer go-to foods? I’d love to hear them!
