This year my family is taking part in the Bag it Forward Campaign with Elmer’s. This campaign focuses on buying quality school supplies at Walmart using their low prices to give back to others. On our trip to Walmart I decided to purchase supplies for my son’s teachers. He is starting a new school this fall and I thought this would be perfect for Meet the Teachers Night.
I think it’s a known fact that the majority of teachers use their own money to purchase supplies for their classrooms plus I know many purchase supplies to help kids in the class that may not be able to. That is why Elmer’s is reaching out to help those in need by utilizing the 1st Day App.
When you download the 1st Day App then head to the store and share pictures of your kids purchasing supplies or on their 1st Day of school, for every picture downloaded and shared on the app Elmer’s will donate school supplies to a child in need. They are making it simple to give back all by downloading a FREE app and taking a picture! The goal of this app is to help you capture, create, and share with your family and friends the memories of starting school.
As soon as my family walked into the store, we immediately spotted the information on the App plus a QR code to download it right there in the store while you are shopping. At each store you will see a similar display like the one above that not only has the app but also all the school supply list for the local area schools.
I will admit, I am a little crazy about school supplies. Something about them just brings back so many memories. I know many children are like this, it’s about a new start a way to wipe the slate clean and start over for the year! I always loved shopping for new supplies and opening that brand new box of crayons or using that glue for the first time. Seeing all the school supplies also reminds me of fall, football, and sweater weather!
We made sure that we looked at each aisle and were surprised at all the good deals that we found, to view my entire shopping trip head on over to my Google + Story.
I loaded up my cart and headed home with all sorts of goodies for the teachers. I also found some cute bags too that are reusable and perfect to put the supplies in!
Of course, I also stocked up on Elmer’s products like their school glue and glue sticks! Oh the crafting that can be done with those!
I was able to pick up all of these products for right around $25 and bless a few deserving teachers in our life and wish them a great start to a new year!
We filled up the bags and are all set to deliver them next month during the Meet the Teachers Night at school! I know my son is just as excited as I am to give these to his teachers.
I encourage each of you to pick up an extra set of supplies this year and Bag it Forward to a deserving child or teacher in your life. It just takes one person to make a difference, but together we can empower children and teachers with a wonderful start to a new school year!
