Last week was full of Back to School Ideas and this week I have even more for you including some easy drink ideas and lunch ideas from Nestle Lunch Bunch!
For my son he is all about options, he needs lots of them…why?
He is the pickiest eater I have ever met! Ever! Or maybe it’s because I am the one that has to deal with his picky eating habits daily. It stresses me out.
One thing that does make my life easier is giving him choices, for instance a daily lunch conversation for us includes giving him options of which meats he can choose from. The more he helps build his lunch with me, the more likely he is to eat it.
Of course, that trick has yet to work for me when it comes to veggies!
This past week at Walmart, I shopped the Nestle Brands Lunch Solutions to create a little Lunch Bunch of sorts! We picked up a variety of products including the Nesquik Chocolate Milk, Nestle Pure Life Water, Juicy Juice 100% Juice Drinks, and Simple Favorite Varieties of Lean Cuisines.
My son felt like he was on top of the world when it came to his lunch because he had choices, he could choose between the milk or juice to go along with his water. Then, I let him choose between the Lean Cuisine Macaroni and Cheese or the French Bread Pizza.
I love idea of using Lean Cuisines in the kids lunch for quick lunch making days because the servings are big enough that I can split it up and use it for two different meals or on two different days. I also know that with Lean Cuisine he’s getting a healthy meal and not something loaded with fats.
Doesn’t that Macaroni and Cheese look delicious? It was calling to me! My wish is that Lean Cuisine will come out with some gluten free varieties…wouldn’t that be fantastic?
My son’s favorite drink of choice was the milk of course! He does not like regular milk so we always end up with chocolate. I have recently found that I can mix a tiny bit of chocolate milk with regular milk and he’ll drink it which significantly cuts the sugar factor down.
I limit his juice intake; however, he enjoys it occasionally. His favorite part of course are the juice boxes. I like that these are easy for him to get on his own too if he is thirsty!
I include water with all his meals to be sure he’s getting enough during the day especially during these summer months. As we start back to school it is just as important if not more to keep them energized and their minds fresh!
There you have it! The Nestle Lunch Bunch Solutions helps us in our picky eater life, give him choices and help him become more involved in making his own lunch.
If you need more ideas be sure to follow along on Twitter at #BTSIdeas and on Facebook! Also, stay tuned, I’ll be sharing more this week plus ending the week with one BIG Back to School Round Up!
Happy Monday!
