My house is clean about 90% of the time. Yes, it is. I used to hate to admit that and feel shameful but I don’t like messes. I can’t handle it. I have a good multi-purpose cleaner on standby at all times!
Do toys get spread about? Yes. Do crumbs hit the floor? YES. Do little boys pee on the walls? {CRINGE} YES!!
BUT…I clean it quickly! Now, the thing about this is, I do not spend hours cleaning my home. Who has that kind of time? I hardly spend a few minutes cleaning it.
So what do I do?
It’s very simple, I clean as I go!
The first thing of course is to have a very good multi-purpose cleaner available like Fabuloso®. I use this regularly for a variety of tasks including cleaning my floors.
I also like to put it in a spray bottle mixed with a little bit of water for quick cleaning on walls, for example that little boy fun that I mentioned above.
I pick up this cleaner on my weekly Walmart shopping trips. It’s very inexpensive and goes a long way too. I only have to buy it a few times throughout the year because it last that long.
I also like to use the Lavender scent, because I want my home to smell fresh and clean! Right now though they have a limited edition, Spring Bloom, it would be perfect for spring cleaning!
Once I have my cleaner all set, I can quickly take care of messes within minutes.
5 Tips to Cleaning in Minutes with Fabuloso
1. Keep a Good Multi-Purpose Cleaner – Keep a bottle of Fabuloso® on hand at all times for quick clean ups such as spills or little artists who like to color on the walls.
2. Toy Storage – If the kids are done playing with their toys, teach them to pick them up.
They do not have to be perfect, but have a toy box or bin where all the toys can be put away and up off the floor or in an organized location.
3. Vacuum & Mop Daily or Every Other Day – This may seem like a lot, but it isn’t. This literally takes about 10 minutes, simply vacuum or mop the high traffic areas each day.
For us this means the living room, dining room, and kitchen. I also use Fabuloso® to mop the floors with too, it works great and leaves them smelling wonderful and clean too.
4. Clean Bathrooms Weekly – Pick 30 minutes one day a week and clean the bathrooms. This may take a little longer if you have several bathrooms; however, once you start doing this weekly, it will take just minutes to do a quick cleaning of them.
Using the spray bottle of Fabuloso® will do wonders on the counter-tops too.
5. Dust Weekly – Pick about 10 minutes a week to use a duster and dust the home, this only takes a few minutes and is a great chore for kids to do too.
If you are dusting weekly then it will take just a few quick minutes to get the house cleaned up and dust free!
This is how we do it at our home. Although it may seem like a lot to do some of these things each day or each week in the end, it frees up my time.
I spend about 30-45 minutes a week on cleaning if that and NEVER have to spend all day cleaning the house.

Fabuloso smells good but doesn’t disinfect.
What do you use to wipe the fabuloso with? Do you use paper towels or cloth rags? If you use cloth rags, do you laundry them separately or with your clothes? It would be a complete waste to run a load of laundry for just a few rags and my machine doesn’t have a light load setting. And it sounds so gross to laundry rags you used for cleaning with your clothes. please give me any tips. I’m a newbie at cleaning. Thank you.
I would use paper towels then or do a separate load, even hand washing may work too. I have certain towels specifically for cleaning, which is helpful.

For the people wanting to “disinfect” simply add a small amount of rubbing alcohol to your cleaning solution. No need to rinse.
Just read your blog & like you I clean as I go day to day because I cannot stand a messy bad smelling home. I typically use dawn soap & vinegar to clean my home & when doing a deep clean I use bleach, to disinfect daily I switched from clorox to lysol (i can no longer stand the smell of bleach). Your home must smell SO amazing with fabuloso AND when you clean as you go you avoid bacteria in your home but when you have small children the need to disinfect is vital as kids touch all kinds of things & are around other kids at school or play ground. It’s a tiring job but so worth it in the end as your kids will grow up & appreciate your hard work & dedication towards them.
I thought I saw on Facebook about putting Fabulous in the comic tank to keep the comic clean. Is this so?
