Do you have a loved one or friend that you witnessed being a caretaker or maybe you are the caretaker? Today, I’m sharing all about 25 Days 25 Ways to Care by Create the Good and how you can reward the caretaker that you know.
I think most of us all probably know someone close to us that we watched care for another loved one or maybe even friend. In my life, I remember my grandma taking very close care of my great grandma and great aunt. These would be my grandma’s mother and aunt. As a little girl, I stayed with my grandma during the day while my mom worked, so I was able to watch her take care of them first hand throughout my childhood.
We spent many days with them both between their homes and my grandma’s house, taking them food, making sure they had all they needed. My grandma had them stay with her many times as well. They both had a room at her home and we always loved it when they were staying over for extended periods of time. I remember both of them well. I was actually give my great aunt’s recipe collection just a few years ago and I treasure that deeply. I remember their cooking and all the parties and family events they had even up into their 90s!
My daughter is now named after my great grandma, I was around her so much as a little girl and remember how strong she was and the stories I heard about her as well. She used to walk MILES to work and back just to be able to provide for her family and went through so many difficult times far greater than most would experience in a lifetime. I knew that when we had our daughter I wanted her to have a strong name and so we chose, Cora, after my great grandma.
In the midst of all of this my grandma was ALWAYS there. She would do anything and everything they needed at anytime. Now, the baton has passed so to speak and my parents are now in the caretaker roll for my grandma. They oversea everything for her just as she did for her parents.
My grandparents and my parents both have instilled in me that caring for others is a privilege, we are cared for as children, and one day we will then need to care for our elders or maybe there is even a younger person that is to be cared for too.
Caretakers should be honored by the love and devotion they give each day and that’s why I’m thrilled to share about 25 Days 25 Ways to Care Create the Good. All you do is nominate someone else, not yourself, and then each day daily random drawings are done over those 25 days. There is even a grand prize donation that will go to the winning nominee’s charity of choice! Now, what you need to do is create a little video about the nominee. I can assure you if the nominee sees this, they will treasure it forever. Over the course of 25 Days, there will be a giveaway winner for a gift card each day. The gift card will be awarded to the nominee. If you share it on Facebook and Twitter that just helps even more because the more votes, the better!
How amazing would that be?! I know I would love to give away $2,500, but of course many of us may not have that sitting aside. It would be amazing to see such a blessing on others.
Now, it’s time to enter the one in your life that you have witness give back and care for others.
Be sure to read the full Contest Rules.
Thank you for giving back!
