I absolutely love cooking in the fall. The summer tends to be somewhat of a chore to cook especially in Oklahoma because it is just so hot. It’s great to go outside and grill, but it’s suffocating hot here, not a dry heat but a very humid heat. Then, fall starts to creep in and suddenly I start getting inspired again to cook and get back in the kitchen. I also happen to love fall produce, then I start dreaming about delicious baked goods with tasty produce.
Are you ready for fall and especially fall produce?

Your spaghetti squash fritters are calling my name! Looks delish. I hear you about loving cooking in the fall. Summer is just too hot to want to cook. I’m looking forward to cooking more in the fall.
Now this post is speaking my language! The Cinnamon Chicken with Sweet Potatoes sounds absolutely divine. Fall is my favorite season and I just love cooking with fresh and local ingredients when possible. Thank you for all the yummy recipes and inspiration!
Great set of recipes for the upcoming weather change. That slow cooker cinnamon chicken is definitely going to my “must try” list. PS, love your blog name. I hate cooking too. But I don’t hate baking.
The very first recipe I would try from your list would be the slow cooker cinnamon chicken with sweet potatoes. I am pretty sure this will earn its place in our list of family favorites. Its funny but I actually hate cooking too. I don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen that’s why my slow cooker is my best friend. I sometimes just throw stuff in together and luckily, it comes out good. Whenever my sons ask what the dish is called, I use street names and add the words “surprise” or “delight” at the end. (Example: West Spruce Delight or Madeline Surprise) LOL.
These recipes sound fantastic and a perfect way to take advantage of the produce that is available fresh. I will be adding these recipes to our meal plan. I love using in season produce because the flavor is amazing.
Autumn is definitely my favorite season! Butternut squash and hakiado pumpkins showed up at the farmer’s market last week and I couldn’t be happier! We also have an apple tree in our common courtyard, which I plan to raid this weekend to make all manner of appley things 🙂
That kale and squash looks amazing! I bet it would make a great side dish for many fall dishes. I love when a dish is healthy and compliments many different meals. Definitley making it!
I absolutely love squash and autumn is my favorite season mostly because of the food! Butternut squash in on our dinner menu at least once a week throughout fall but I haven’t made anything yet. I am for sure going to be trying the kale and butternut squash! We have both growing in our garden right now -thank you!
