Get ready for the holidays with these 10 Gluten-Free Holiday Cake Recipes!
Are you getting ready for the holidays? We are and that always means treats!
I see a lot of people many times struggling this time of year trying to decide how to make their favorite treats gluten-free.
Guess what?
It really isn’t that hard!
Honestly, you can make almost everything your little heart desires gluten-free. It’s all about finding the right flour that will work in the recipe.
When I first went gluten-free many years ago, the idea of having gluten-free products at a store like Walmart was unheard of. There truly was nothing that was gluten-free there at all!
I usually had to go to a speciality store to find the products I needed and most were way overpriced. I quickly learned to make my own from scratch with just about everything.
Nowadays, you can easily find flour and mixes right in your local grocery store.
A good tip though if you are trying out the gluten-free diet that was give to me was to shop the perimeter of the store.
That means stick to fresh foods like vegetables, fruits, meats, and dairy for a few weeks while you see if gluten is the culprit to any issues you are having.
Once you know for sure, then start to add in speciality items. This was especially helpful for me when I switched my diet because it is very overwhelming when starting out.
Eventually though, you will find that you can make just about anything gluten-free. It just may take a little extra time as opposed to picking up a boxed item.
During the holidays though, we all deserve a slice of cake. These 10 Gluten-Free Holiday Cake Recipes will help you get your holiday party set with some great desserts!
What is the best Gluten-Free flour for recipes?
There are several these days, but I have to say I prefer Better Batter Gluten Free All Purpose Flour. In full disclosure, I write menu plans for them, so I do have somewhat of a relationship there; however, I use it in every single recipe.
If a recipe calls for flour, this is what I use. Granted, when I initially went gluten-free there were not many options in the store. Now, you can head to the store and find them too, but I still find that Better Batter works in an even swap from regular flour.
What Gluten-Free Cake Mix should you use?
I also love Better Batter Cake Mixes too, they have yellow and chocolate in gluten-free. I recently used a King Arthur Gluten Free Yellow Cake Mix and it was great too, I found that one at Walmart.
There are just SO many options!
