I was honored to be invited the last few days to the Blogger Wilton Workshop. It was all about cakes, decorating, and the TENT SALE! I was so excited to meet some of the great, talented Foodie Bloggers that attended.
The office building is full of cakes, there are cakes along the tops of file cabinets, on desk, bookshelves. Each direction you turn there are more cakes! Now, this is a place I could work.
We started off our day being trained by the great Wilton Teacher, Sandra Folsom. She has been with Wilton over 25 years and graciously taught us the basics to cake decorating.
After spending the morning and afternoon learning all about buttercream and fondant, we loaded up to head to the tent sale.
The tent sale was really beyond imagination. It was a massive tent just loaded to the seams with all things Wilton that were nearly 75-80% off! Pans were running under $6, candles, icings, tips and more were under $1! I loaded up!
Here is my finds at the tent sale, I tried very hard to limit myself as I had to pack everything. My suitcase went from light to heavy really fast! My favorite find is the doughnut pan, I’m planning to make Chocolate Glazed Donuts this weekend.
Next we headed to dinner where we each got an award for our team cake decorations.
Here are all the beautiful cakes, then our awards which were oh so cute! My team won the ‘Most Contemporary’ Award.
My team members were Megan with Not Martha, and Hilary with Nosh With Me.
I had a great time meeting amazing foodies and enjoying our Wilton experience. For more pictures please visit my Facebook page, for the list of attendees please visit Prudent Baby.
