As we switch gears from Summer to Back to School, we are also in the middle of transitioning our breakfast routine!
One of my favorites though that remains is coffee. It’s a must! It was definitely a must for our summer breakfast as we woke up gearing up for a day filled with summer activities and it’ll likely be even more of a must as we head into the school year.
One of my son’s favorite activities this summer was spending time at the splash pad, plus he also loved going to Mother’s Day Out with some of his preschool friends! I enjoyed spending the mornings with my kids and soaking it up before my son starts Pre-K in just over a week!
Waking up before 7am? That’s hard for me to do! I have really gotten used to these very late nights and sleeping until at least 7! That will be changing soon though!
One of my favorite treats during the week are my Frozen Caramel Coffees! I also use Folgers© Coffee in my Frozen Caramel Coffee! I like to use the 1/2 regular & 1/2 decaf if I’m drinking it later in the day, if not then I like a bold blend early in the morning! This drink makes so much too, I can easily freeze some for later during the week. Plus, I’m making it for less than $5 to make enough to freeze when that’s the cost of 1 drink at the local coffee shop! Did you know you can get a great deal on Folgers© Coffee at Walmart?
Along with our morning coffee we also enjoy delicious gluten free biscuits topped with Smuckers© brand Jams and preserves. One of my favorites we use is the Apricot, delicious!
I love that we live so close to Walmart, so I can easily pick up some of these products and make affordable breakfast for my kids. Although we do swing by the drive thru from time to time for the most part, we almost always grab a bite from home. I like to know what goes into our foods and make it myself, so this is just the perfect way to do that!
What are some of your go to breakfast items for the summer and also back to school season?
