It’s that time of year to start thinking about gift giving and what better way than these Stockings of Love for Your Furry Friend!
The holidays are here, whether we are ready or not! I was just thinking today that Christmas is just about 6 weeks away and I haven’t purchase a thing for my kids or family! I’m normally well on my way to finishing up my Christmas shopping by mid-November, this year I haven’t even started to think about gifts yet.
I guess it’s a little hard though to think about Christmas gifts when we are still in the upper 80’s here in Oklahoma. Our weather has been so unseasonably warm, I’m ready for cold and boots and jackets. I feel like I should have kept my summer clothes out and probably kept up with pedicures too. Hopefully though, the weather changes and I suddenly get in the mood to start shopping.
I did browse the aisles though of Dollar General recently and found some adorable items for our dog, May. She’s going to be spoiled this Christmas as always. I also found a fun and cute stocking for her too. I love hanging this up and getting the kids involved in picking out treats for her. This time, we stopped by Dollar General and picked up our favorite Milk-Bone and Pup-Peroni treats. We even grabbed some Canine Carry Outs too.
My kids always get so excited to give her some treats. We decided to grab her a few new toys too. Her toys always seem to go missing, I’m almost 100% sure she buries them out in our yard. We always see her chewing on a bone, then she will go bury it and save it for later. It’s so funny to watch!
My son loves to have her do tricks for her treats, although really she’s ready to tackle him to get that treat. We tell her to sit, stay, lay down, leave it, and wait. Then, of course she’s happy when she gets her treat. We try to brush up on her skills, she was in training classes when she was a puppy but at almost 10 years old now, she’s a big, lovable bear of a dog. She’s a huge dog, she is a lab but mixed with some breed that must have been large in size. She’s nearly taller than me when standing up lengthwise. She’s a friendly dog though and loves to be petted and played with plus loves treats of course too!
Right now, you can pick up everything you need to stuff a stocking for your furry friend right at your local Dollar General . They even have lots of deals going on each week on many of the items. I stocked up on Christmas decorations while I was there too, maybe I’ll get a head start and possibly get lights on our house this year…maybe!
What are some items that you always have on hand to put in your dog’s stocking?
I’d love to hear some more ideas! Happy Shopping!
