A few simple ingredients are needed for this main dish. The full recipe card will be below.
- Round Steak
- Dry Italian Dressing Mix
- Tomato Sauce
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Beef Broth
- Bell Pepper
- Mushrooms
These will be the only ingredients needed for these fork tender steaks.

Tips for Making Slow Cooker Italian Steaks:
It’s best to poke the steaks with a fork after placing it in the slow cooker, this will help tenderize the beef.
Once the steaks are placed into the slow cooker, the remaining ingredients are topped over the steaks.
Up to 5 round steaks should fit nicely in a 6-quart slow cooker.
It’s recommended to cook the steaks on LOW for 6 hours or until they reach an internal temperature of at least 145 degrees F.
I do not recommend cooking the steaks on high as this cooks them too fast and they will dry out. Medium heat or low heat is best for this recipe, high heat will dry out this cut of beef.
Green Peppers or Red Peppers can be used for the bell peppers. Also, other herbs and spices can be added to your taste as well such as garlic powder, bay leaf, salt, and ground black pepper. I would add these just before serving.
How do you store leftovers?
This recipe is best eaten fresh; however, leftover steaks can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge.
When ready to serve, heat them on a microwave-safe plate for 2 minutes.
The best thing about this simple recipe is the delicious flavor and it’s a great hearty meal with tender meat. Did I mention there is very minimal effort on your part too?
This slow cooker meal is the perfect choice for your busy day!
