Make the holidays fun with a Holiday Hot Chocolate Bar!
Is it cold yet in your part of the country? It is sure getting there here in Oklahoma! Last year, I shared with you a few favorite recipes like these S’mores Hot Chocolate Floats. This year, I thought I would share with you one of my favorite additions to parties during the winter months, a hot chocolate bar with Chocolate Milk.
Did you know that you can pour Chocolate Milk into a slow cooker and let it warm up and your guests can enjoy warm hot chocolate, and then top it with all their favorite toppings? It’s true!
So far, I have done this at my daughter’s birthday party each year and that is no different this year either. Her birthday is this weekend, so we will be having our traditional hot chocolate bar there as well. This year she is having a Frozen Themed birthday party, I even found some fun themed additions for our hot chocolate bar for her party. I’m anxious for our guests to see those.
Last year, I feel like we had hot chocolate daily. It’s so simple to pour it into a crock pot or warm it up in the microwave. It’s definitely a breeze compared to making it from scratch, plus you get that same great taste.
This past weekend, I setup our hot chocolate bar for my husband and son as they were busy trying to put up our Christmas lights. I spotted them enjoying their hot chocolate outside, then of course they had to show off their whipped cream faces.
They eventually gave up on the Christmas lights, I have to say I had a feeling that would happen. Since we moved into a larger home we have some taller aspects to our home that my husband just cringes at the thought of trying to reach.
After a good 30 minutes messing with our Christmas lights, it was decided that we will get a head start next year and do something FANTASTIC and skip this year. I have to admit I’m a little sad, but thanks to a lot of rain this year, we were getting a very late start on getting those lights up. Thankfully though, I was ahead on decorating the inside of our home, so at least the inside is well decorated for Christmas.
We usually add a variety to our hot chocolate bar from candies, marshmallows, and whipped cream, then of course I always dip our cups in chocolate with sprinkles. It’s adds a little extra touch to your hot chocolate bar, plus that chocolate taste good too!
Enjoy!
