A great way to refuel during warm, summer day is with an Angus Cheeseburger plus Homemade Garlic Chili Potato Chips! This post is written in partnership with Sandwich Bros. of Wisconsin, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I’ve mentioned it before but we spend the majority of our summers out on the lake. We’ve always gone to the lake many times over the summer with some of our dearest friends, but a few years ago we finally decided to make the plunge and buy our own boat. Our friends decided to upgrade, so we bought their boat. The lake quickly became our happy place and where we prefer to spend most of our time in the summer. It’s just so calm, peaceful, and a great escape from the day to day hustle and bustle of life. One thing we’ve got down is that we need to pack the most efficient food options to keep our kids and selves fueled on hot days. One way we do that is by warming up Angus Cheeseburgers to take with us along with Homemade Garlic Chili Potato Chips.
Now, when we take the Angus Cheeseburgers, I typically will warm them up at home before we leave and then pack them with us in the cooler. Of course, our friends boat has a microwave on it so there is always that option too; however, I find it much easier to warm them up and then pack them to take with us. I love that they are little pita bread pockets, so they are the perfect size for our kids to hold and eat as they sit on the boat or they play up on the shore of the lake.
The Angus Cheeseburgers, from Sandwich Bros. of Wisconsin, are flame-broiled, lean Angus burgers plus they are topped with real American Cheese. My entire family loves these and with how simple they are to heat and serve, it’s easy on me too! Then, I always pack along chips and they are even more tasty when you take your own.
I’ve become addicted to making our own potato chips, they are simple to make and bake in the oven at the start of the week. Once we have them baked, we eat on them all throughout the week. We like to do a variety of flavors too but I’m pretty sure our favorite so far are these Garlic Chili Potato Chips. As we head on through the summer, this has been a go-to for us for lake days and pool days too. I’m certain I’ll be packing these in lunches soon too as we head back to school. We are just about 6 weeks away from starting school, the final summer push before school kicks back in gear.
What are some of your go-to lunches when you are out on the water or at the pool? I’d love to hear what you pack in your lunch for summer outings.
Enjoy!
