Is this a typical cookie? No. Is it as good as a regular, butter filled Chocolate Chip Cookie? No. What is it? A healthy way to get your cookie fix without the added calories!
That friends is exactly what I need.
I am currently trying to get my health back in check because as it turns out when you spend 1/2 your time in the kitchen and the other 1/2 of your time behind a computer screen, that leaves very little time for…exercise. I have a new motto lately and that is workout before working. Short and simple!
A large bulk of my work is done at the end of the day after my kids go to bed, many of you would be surprised to know that I actually do in fact work full time. I work from home full time; however, I do it at very odd times. There are both pros and cons to this, one being that I really have no way to ‘shutdown’ because my work is always looking at me. I can’t go in and clock out after 8 hours because it’s 24/7 and I’m usually splitting it up in between getting the kids and doing activities throughout the day. The bonus though and it’s the big one is that I can enjoy flexible hours and work around my schedule and my kids schedule.
What does this mean though? Every ounce of work time I get is SO valuable, that is why putting my health first has been kicked to the back burner. I recently realized that my priorities have been completely out of whack. If I want to function right and be there for my husband, kids, and myself, I do have to put myself first to an extent and especially getting my ‘healthy self’ back.
In saying all of that, I am also striving to eat better. My biggest dilemma? I LOVE cookies. As in I love them so much I could eat a couple dozen in a day. No joke.
Knowing this, my mom’s friend passed this recipe along to me. Although it isn’t the same as a normal cookie it still tasted very good and took care of my cookie cravings. My picky eater even liked them.
What’s the main ingredient? Banana! That’s right, it’s not flour or butter, it’s bananas.
These are so simple to make, they actually make more like ‘chipper’ style cookies as they are small but again they are a dieter’s best friend. You could also make them bigger by doubling the recipe and making the actual cookies larger.
Are you ready for a little treat after your workout without ruining the workout? Here you go!
