Make the most delicious Gluten Free Truffles with this easy No-Bake Recipe! These are perfect for your upcoming parties or as a gift too!
Are you ready for a wonderful holiday treat this holiday season? Look no further than these Gluten Free Truffles, they are SO GOOD and a great base recipe for a variety of flavors of truffles. It’s easy to get creative with these.
These truffles can easily be wrapped up and given as Christmas gifts too, who doesn’t love a truffle?
How do you make truffles gluten-free?
The one ingredient that you need for these are Gluten-Free Oreos or Gluten-Free Chocolate Cream Filled Cookies, now that Oreos has their own gluten-free brand, we almost always use those.
Before this, there were a variety of other brands of gluten free cookies including Walmart Brand and Glutino.
Tips for Making Gluten-Free Truffles:
First, remember this is a VERY MESSY process, so if you make a mess…that’s normal!
The first step will be placing the cookies into a food processor and pulsing them until they are a crumb consistency. This is going to give us crushed chocolate cookie crumbs that will be used as a base for this recipe along with peanut butter.
Once the cookies are crushed, add in the cream cheese and peanut butter, and continue to mix this until well combined. I highly suggest using a food processor, it’s much easier than doing this all by hand.
When you are ready to coat the truffle mixture, it’s best to be fully prepared because you must work quickly before the chocolate hardens.
Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper and set aside.
Then, add the chocolate bars to a microwave-safe bowl and begin to warm up the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate is fully melted. The best chocolate to use is semi-sweet, but if you prefer dark chocolate or white chocolate, you can use those as well.
Use a cookie scoop to roll the cookie mixture into a 1 tablespoonful size and then coat with the chocolate. This is best done with two forks spinning the chocolate until it’s well coated, then carefully placing it on the lined cookie sheet.
If you want to add sprinkles on top, sprinkle it as soon as you place the truffle on the parchment paper with melted chocolate.
Continue this process until all of the truffles have been made.
Remember that the chocolate may need to be reheated several times during this process. Usually, it’s going to be after about every 6 truffles, the chocolate will need to be melted again. It’s best to heat the chocolate a little bit at a time and then stir and repeat.
Let them fully harden before serving.
Optional Add-Ins:
Some other variations that can be done are:
- White Chocolate (Use white chocolate instead of semi-sweet Chocolate or swirl white chocolate over the truffles.)
- Orange Peels (Use orange zest to add flavor to the recipe or garnish with orange peels.)
- Candy Canes (Crush candy canes and sprinkle on top or add to the mixture this is best done with peppermint candy canes.)
How do you store Peanut Butter Oreo Truffles?
The truffles can be wrapped in plastic wrap once fully hardened or placed in an airtight container at room temperature. For best results though, store them in the fridge. They are best served within a week of making.
Get creative and add some of your favorite add-ins for these Gluten Free Oreo Truffles. These truffles are the perfect No-Bake Recipe for this upcoming holiday season!
Gluten Free Truffles
Ingredients
- 20 Gluten-Free Oreos or Chocolate Cream Cookies
- 4 oz Cream Cheese
- 1/2 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
- 2 4oz Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bars or Baking Chocolate Bars
- Sprinkles
Instructions
- Place the cookies in a food processor and process until they are crumb consistency.
- Add in the cream cheese and peanut butter, and continue pulsing in the food processor until well combined.
- Let this mixture sit in the fridge for about 30 minutes to chill.
- Once ready to make the truffles, line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Using a microwave-safe bowl, place the chocolate bars in the bowl and melt for 30 seconds, stir and continue 30 seconds at a time until fully melted. This may need to be re-melted during the process again.
- Roll part of the cookie mixture into tablespoon-sized balls or use a cookie scoop, then dip them well in the chocolate. It's best to use two forks to toss these in the chocolate then remove and let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. This is a messy process.
- Carefully place the truffle on the parchment paper and immediately top with the sprinkles of your choice.
- Continue until all are made, remelt the chocolate if needed. It will typically stay melted for at least 6 truffles and will need to be warmed up again.
- Let them stand for about 15 minutes to fully harden or place in fridge to fully harden.
- Serve.
