Cooking Light: Gluten Free Cookbook

gluten free

This month is Celiac Disease Awareness Month and Cooking Light is showcasing this with their new Gluten-Free Cookbook.  Many of you know my own struggles with gluten if not you can read my gluten free story.

Eating a gluten free diet is not always easy, I know for me I miss soft breads and pastries.  I’ll admit that even the foods that are made to be very similar they are still not the same.  They do make a good substitute but even more so as I am pregnant now, I crave the gluten filled breads.

I have high hopes that this cookbook will help with some of those cravings!  Not only does Cooking Light offer this great cookbook but they also have a variety of free resources for gluten free eating.

Be sure to head over to the Cooking Light website to find out more on gluten free eating.

Disclosure:  This is not a paid post; however, Cooking Light does advertise for Mommy Hates Cooking on their website.  All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

Baby Brezza Cookbook and Giveaway

baby brezza

When I first started this website, my son was just starting to eat solids so I had been making baby food nonstop.  I may have been new to cooking regularly, but not to making baby food.  I was very particular about his baby food, not to mention I really did not want to pay the price of baby food at the store.  So, I did the next best thing, I made it.

I came up with my own combo’s or ones that I saw at the store, I would just try at home.  Now though it’s even better because there is a cookbook to help you make all that wonderful baby food.

Cookbook Highlight: Betty Crocker Cookbook

betty crocker cookbookI have to say I have never been let down with Betty Crocker Recipes.  I have found that the majority are tasty home cooked meals perfect for busy families. Of course, Betty Crocker has been around for years so I am certain perfection goes along with the name.

This cookbook is on my list to purchase this year, it’s said to be their most thorough revision and includes over 1500 recipes!  I am not sure about you but that will take me a while to cook my way through!

This cookbook also features ideas and information on freezer cooking, which I most certainly love!

How about you, have you purchased this cookbook yet?

Disclosure:  This was not a sponsored post, just my thoughts on this cookbook and that I would like to add it to my collection.

Cookbook Highlight: Sister Schubert’s Cookbook

Photo Source: Cast Your Bread Upon the Waters

Today’s Cookbook Highlight is one that I was given as part of partnering with Sister Schubert over the last few months, Cast Your Bread Upon the Waters.  When I received this cookbook what struck me the most was the story behind Sister Schubert.  It was truly an inspiration to read before I even got to the recipes.  Then, all of the recipes including the ones for the Everlasting Rolls are wonderful!

I am anxious to make the Everlasting Rolls.  I am certain mine may not be as good as Sister Schubert, but with this recipe they will be tasty of that I am sure!

This cookbook comes highly recommended by me, and the story alone is inspirational and uplifting.  One of my favorite parts is where she talks about singing praise songs on Sunday mornings when they had to open up their factory on Sundays.  She specifically talks about the rolls being blessed, I would say looking at her company those rolls were surely blessed!

It is incredible to see the doors God opens when we take the first move and what can come from what we may think is a simple idea like a bread recipe.

I’m ending this with one of the scriptures she puts in her cookbook that I absolutely love.

“Do not despise these small beginnings, the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…” -Zechariah 4:10

Disclosure:  Although I did work with Sister Schubert’s this post is in not sponsored or paid.  It is simply my thoughts on this book.  It is truly one of the best cookbooks I own.
