Are you a party person? I love having my family over and we do it frequently! I mean I am always cooking family size meals, so I may as well have the family over to enjoy it.
The only thing to put a little damper on my parade of enjoying parties with the family is that we are in the process of attempting to sell our house. What does this mean? It means my kitchen is not my own! It means that it is now ‘show’ ready 99% of the time and that my appliances are in hiding.
This can be really frustrating when you are like me and cook the majority of foods homemade. That’s where Stouffer’s Party Size entrees came to the rescue this past weekend!
We had planned to have a family get together at our house, then we found out that we were going to have an open house on the same day. That meant we had to reconfigure our plans and move the party to my parent’s house.
This wasn’t a bad thing but it also meant that I would not be cooking my main dishes there. It’s really just hard not being in your own kitchen especially when you have your kitchen stocked for someone who cooks frequently. My mom’s kitchen is not stocked like mine is.
Seeing as we were in a predicament, I decided to mix a little homemade with the Stouffer’s Party Size Entrees. I whipped up a Pumpkin Pie along with a fresh salad then I paired it with Lasagna, Macaroni & Cheese, Pizza, and bread. I will let you in on a little tip, if you are using pre-made items, it’s always nice to take them out of the aluminum baking dishes and put them in nice serving dishes. This takes the party to a whole new level without much work.
I also did a drink bar that included punch made with Edy’s Peppermint Wonderland Ice Cream. All you need to do for the punch is mix a 2 liter of sprite or club soda with a half gallon of Hawaiian Punch. Then, just fill it with scoops of Peppermint Wonderland Ice Cream. Then, enjoy a glass of Peppermint Punch.
For dessert? Edy’s Peppermint Wonderland Ice Cream as part of a fabulous sundae bar! This ice cream was absolutely delicious, soft and creamy. Could you imagine how good it would taste over a brownie? They even have Eggnog for the holidays as well. I love eggnog. I think that is probably a love it or hate it product, but I sure love it!
We were able to enjoy our party with very little prep work, which gave my husband and I time to get our house spotless in time for our open house.
Now, we need a buyer because I’m ready to sell! In the meantime, I’m thankful for an easy party and lots of family time during this holiday season.
Maybe you are gearing up for Black Friday shopping, if so enjoy a simple party like ours!
