Baked Apple Crisp

I was craving apples the other day but not just any apples, baked cinnamon apples.  As I looked through some recipes I found this Baked Apple Crisp over on All Recipes.  I immediately thought of a few changes that I wanted to make to it, but I knew I had to make it right away!

One thing I did for all my gluten free fans, I changed out the flour and used Better Batter Gluten Free All Purpose Flour.  It worked like a charm, you could not tell a difference at all.  My husband who is not gluten free had no idea!

I prepared it in a 9×13 baking dish, the recipe is simple the only tiring part is peeling all those apples!  Luckily, my husband stepped in and started peeling apples for me!

The smell of my house as it baked was amazing, made me want fall to be here even more.  Although, I can eat this year round and it was perfect served with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream!

Is your mouth watering yet?  I’m not going to lie this only lasted a few days around our house!

  1. Is the 10 cups of apples measured before or after they are peeled, cored, and sliced?

    • According to the original recipe and when I made it, it was 10 cups after they were sliced, peeled, and cored. I eyed it and did enough to fill up the 9×13 pan.
