Slow Cooker Green Beans and Potatoes

slow cooker green beans and potatoes

One of my husband’s favorite side items is green beans and potatoes.  I guess it’s his country roots maybe?  I have to admit though I love it too.  He especially loves it with roast or even oven fried chicken.

This year we are growing beans in our garden; however, he was so anxious for this dish that he went to the store and bought some beans and potatoes for us to make it.  The day that we made this, we had family over eating it so I had to snap a very quick picture before it was gone!

As he snapped the peas, he went on telling me about how they used to have snapping parties when he grew up.  I explained to him that I think he may have been tricked into it being called a ‘party’.  Then, he told me about the shucking corn parties.  Really?  This boy missed the definition of a ‘party’.  This is when city girl meets country boy all over again.

Now, let’s get on to this tasty recipe!
